Mail Sack Bag Clone

(With apologies to Kathy at Pink Chalk Studio.)  I used Illustrator to trace the basic proportions off of photos people posted of their own completed bags, and enlarged to make my pattern pieces.  I added my own pocket design on the inside.  I also got the idea to trim the edge between the two fabrics from the Mail Sack Party.  Clearly, without the pattern, I was on my own for construction.  I don’t think I would do it again the way I did (finish handle strap, then tuck into bottom sides).  But that said, it is a very nice bag, as I needed something that held a lot more stuff, but was still small-ish in form factor, and low-maintenance when lugging around a bulky, heavy car seat!

Outside fabric: Joann’s 45” cotton home-dec fabric; lining/accent: midweight cotton-lycra sateen; no interfacing used.
