Cute Messenger Bag

Continuing my experiments with interfacing, this bag is made with a medium weight cotton fused to sew-in interfacing with Wonder Web, and lined with flannel. It's a sturdy bag, and definitely stands on its own.

Inside, there's a big pocket and two smaller ones from a double layer of the outer fabric, no interfacing.

The flap is held closed by velcro:

This was aimed for a friend's young daughter to have fun with and grow into (hence the bright colors and nod to Elmo), but it's a cute size, and I totally want one for myself! (My ever-patient hubby did his part being a bag-holder for the camera.)
