Quilty meandering

Super sekrit project! I am 1/3 of the way through quilting it, when I ran out of the top thread color. Woops. I have some oopsies in there, but it's going pretty well. Most of the glitches come when I start and stop, as the sandwich shifts and suddenly I have a huge stitch. I'm finding that even a lap quilt is a bit hard to manuever, but perhaps that will get better with time and a less cluttered workspace. My head is still mentally tracing those loopy meanderings. No longer a FMQ virgin! ;)

I think I like light thread color over dark fabric better than the opposite, but in the end, it's coming together. One day I'll graduate to doing (more) interesting designs not on a long-arm machine! The bug may be biting... hard. But at least I've used my machine to do what I bought it for now! Am intrigued to try straight line quilting, too, though that might be less forgiving in less than perfect pin-basting.

Bought some Thermo-lan today for some potholders. Our kitchen could really use some more...
